from the solar summit to the dark belly,
from the dark belly to the pearl,
from the pearl to the breath,
from the breath to the body,
from the body to the void.

The sage does not pursue power:
he ceases to lose it.

He does not seek the light:
he polishes the night until it becomes transparent.

He does not dominate emotions:
he leads them back to the cauldron,
where fire and water, the tiger and the dragon,
the mother and the son,
unite in the silence of the Dao.

This is the Way.
